Try turning super-sampling off completely: what it does is render the game at a higher resolution than your current one, then downscales the output to your current resolution. eg. playing at 1920x1080 and having supersampling set to 1.5 will render the game at 2880x1620, and having it set at 2.0 will render at 3840x2160 (4K).
